Happy Pigs.
These ARE your Grandmother’s sausages!
Where are our sausages made?
Mr Robinson’s is excited to partner with a butcher shop that shares the same values as us. As animal lovers and meat eaters, we have always known we wanted to make our sausages from humanely raised pigs.
Our search for the highest quality meat brought us to this partnership.
SONOMA COUNTY MEAT CO. is located at 35 Sebastopol Avenue, South of Highway 12, West of Highway 101, East of Dutton Ave. They have been voted as the Best Butcher Shop in Sonoma County for 5 years in a row: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020!
They are a traditional butcher shop that specializes in local meat, sausages, and smoked meat. They are Sonoma County's only USDA-inspected and Custom Exempt meat processing facility, serving ranchers and hunters across the Bay Area. For terrific service in an old-school butcher shop, visit SCMC in Santa Rosa where they always have a trained butcher on duty.
Where does our meat come from?
Our sausage meat is sourced from Mountain View Pork with deep roots in California. They are a 3rd generation family farm involved in all stages of pig farming. Their family has a tradition of raising quality hogs for over 40 years.
Their pigs are sustainably and humanely raised. They raise their animals paying close attention to the surrounding land and environment and they care about their animals welfare and safety.
The pigs are raised outdoors and are free roaming in deep-bedded straw and are protected with large shade covers. The pigs are only fed a 100% vegetarian diet which have no animal proteins or animal by-products and they are antibiotic and hormone free.
Today they focus on raising 100% heritage breeds such as the Duroc and the Berkshire. The Duroc and Berkshire breeds are known for their excellent marbling. Their pork is juicy, tender and has so much flavor.
This all-natural approach is the foundation of Mountain View Pork and the deciding factor for us to source from them.
